Half a Million Reasons to Say Thank You
Just months after its launch in March 2025, The Levant Files has crossed a milestone that seemed distant when this journey began: more than 500,000 visits.
For a young, independent media project, half a million is more than a number on an analytics screen. It represents readers who stopped, clicked, returned, shared a story, listened to a podcast, watched a video or simply decided that what we were doing was worth a few minutes of their time.
So today, TLF sends half a million messages of gratitude to its readers and followers.

When The Levant Files began, the idea behind it was relatively simple but ambitious: to help fill a gap on the media map of a region that is too often covered through separate national, linguistic and political lenses.
We wanted to create a multilingual gateway for news, analysis and ideas stretching across a much wider neighbourhood — from the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean to the Arabian Peninsula, and from Turkey and the Caucasus to the shores of Africa.
More Than A News Site
Over this relatively short period, TLF has gradually grown beyond the original concept.
Breaking news and regional analysis remain at its heart. But the project is increasingly becoming a meeting place for different perspectives, languages and intellectual traditions.
Recently, we opened our doors to guest writers, inviting scholars, journalists, researchers and independent voices to contribute to a broader cultural and intellectual exchange. We want TLF to be a place where disagreement is possible, curiosity is encouraged and the complicated realities of our region are not reduced to slogans.
Stories Beyond The Written Word
At the same time, our podcasts and videocasts are taking TLF beyond the written page.
They explore a broad range of historical, political, social and cultural questions — sometimes serious, sometimes unexpected, and always driven by the same curiosity that gave birth to The Levant Files.
And we are only getting started.
A new season of podcasts and videocasts is on its way, with new subjects, new conversations, new faces and, we promise, quite a few surprises — and some fun along the way.

There is still much to improve, experiment with and build. TLF remains a young endeavour, and perhaps that is precisely what makes this milestone so meaningful.
In little more than a year and a half, an idea launched in March 2025 has developed into a multilingual platform followed by readers across countries, borders and communities.
