According to People's World, the two communist parties strongly denounced "the ongoing Israeli aggression in the region and the recent attack on Iran, which constitutes a direct violation of international law." They demanded an immediate cessation of all military actions, emphasizing the tragic loss of civilian lives on both sides and highlighting that leaders of the Israeli government have "been rightly accused of crimes against humanity" by the International Criminal Court.
The statement connected the current tensions involving Iran to Israel's actions in Palestine, asserting that Benjamin Netanyahu's government, with support from "American imperialism, Britain, and their allies," has caused immense Palestinian suffering and is now aiming to "redraw the map of the Middle East." The parties warned against exploiting the situation to oppress Palestinians further, calling for an end to the "genocide in Gaza" and recognition of a Palestinian state as vital for regional peace.
"Only imperialism, its allies, reactionaries, and the ruling dictatorship [in Iran] benefit from the tensions and war," they declared, accusing Israel and the U.S. of seeking to undermine Iranian sovereignty. Both parties also expressed principled opposition to all regional nuclear weapons programs, advocating for disarmament and universal adherence to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, including by Israel. They urged progressive forces worldwide to unite against violations of international law and utilize U.N. channels to prevent a catastrophic regional war.
