Turkey Denies Report of FM Hakan Fidan Meeting Mossad chief in Doha, Calls Timing ‘Pure Coincidence’

Turkish diplomatic sources on Thursday denied foreign media claims that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with the director of Israel’s Mossad during his visit to Doha, saying no such meeting took place and that any overlap in their presence in the Qatari capital was coincidental.

The denial was reported by Cumhuriyet, which cited diplomatic sources stating that the two figures merely happened to be in Doha at the same time.

“Foreign Minister Fidan did not hold such a meeting. Their simultaneous presence in Doha was entirely coincidental,” the sources said.

According to the same officials, Fidan traveled to Doha to discuss Gaza and broader regional issues with Qatari counterparts. They did not identify the foreign media outlet that carried the initial claim about a meeting with the Mossad director.

The diplomatic sources added that no further details would be provided beyond the denial, reiterating that the report was inaccurate.
