Israeli Forces Conduct Raids in West Bank, Homes of Freed Prisoners Targeted

Israeli forces conducted extensive operations across several cities and towns in the West Bank early Wednesday, reportedly targeting the residences of recently released Palestinian prisoners. The actions follow the release of hundreds of prisoners on Monday as part of an agreement to end the conflict in Gaza.

According to Al Quds, Israeli occupation forces were observed in the vicinity of the Legislative Council in downtown Ramallah. Reports indicate that forces also entered the Qadoura camp within the city center.

Palestinian media, cited by Al Quds, reported that the home of freed prisoner Raed Al-Shawani in the Umm Al-Sharait area of Ramallah was raided. Additionally, several homes in the Amari camp near Ramallah, including those belonging to families of freed prisoners, were reportedly stormed.

Further operations by Israeli forces were reported in the town of Bitunia, west of Ramallah, and the village of Arura in the Ramallah district. In the Bethlehem area, the Deheisheh camp was also entered. In the northern occupied West Bank, forces were active in the city of Tubas and the southern town of Tammon, where light bombs were reportedly fired.

In the southern West Bank, the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, also experienced an incursion by Israeli forces.

These operations occur shortly after the reception of dozens of Palestinian prisoners in the West Bank on Monday, who were released under an exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel. The Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated that a total of 1,968 Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel. This figure includes 250 individuals serving life sentences or high sentences, and 1,718 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were arrested during the recent conflict. Some of the released prisoners were reportedly deported to Egypt.
