A staggering 32 women were killed by men in Turkey during November 2025, with nearly 69 percent murdered within their own homes, according to a new report. The data, compiled by the Turkish Women's Associations Federation (TKDF), details a month of violence where the safest of spaces became the deadliest for dozens of women.
According to a report by T24 on December 6, citing the TKDF's November 2025 femicide data, 26 confirmed femicides and 6 suspicious deaths of women were recorded between November 1-30. This brings the total number of women who lost their lives to male violence last month to 32.
The victims came from all age groups, underscoring the pervasive nature of the threat. The report indicates that 37.5% of the women were aged 19-35, while 34.4% were between 36 and 50 years old. Tragically, 15.6% were aged 51-70, and 12.5% were just children and young adults between the ages of 4 and 18.
Home, the Most Dangerous Place
The TKDF's findings paint a horrifying picture of where these attacks occurred. Of the 32 women, 22 were killed in their own homes or places of residence. Seven women were murdered in public spaces, two were found deceased near the sea, and one in a wooded area. This means that 68.75% of the victims were slaughtered in the very places where they should have been most secure.

Firearms were the most commonly used weapon in these killings. Twenty-two of the murders were committed with a gun. Five women were killed with sharp instruments, one was killed by being pushed from a height, and the method in four cases remained unknown or was categorized as "other."
The perpetrators were overwhelmingly men from the victims' close circles. The breakdown of the relationship between the victim and the killer reveals a familiar pattern of intimate partner and familial violence. Nine women were killed by a family member. Five were murdered by a husband they were divorcing or in the process of divorcing, and another five were killed by a man they had rejected or tried to leave. One woman was killed by the father of her daughter, and another by a man she was in a relationship with. Four women were murdered by male acquaintances. The remaining six cases are registered as suspicious deaths, where the perpetrator's identity or relationship is under investigation.
Regarding marital status, 13 of the deceased women were married, 12 were single, and one was divorced. The marital status of six women remains unknown. The report serves as another grim monthly reminder of the urgent crisis of violence against women in Turkey.
