Ναυάγιο στην Κερύνεια: Πυρά Δημοσιοργάφου για Θεσμική Ανικανότητα και Έλλειψη Αξιοκρατίας



Για βαθιά συστημική κρίση, κατάρρευση της αξιοκρατίας και εγκληματικές παραλείψεις που οδήγησαν στην πρόσφατη ναυτική τραγωδία ανοιχτά της Κερύνειας, έκανε λόγο ο δημοσιογράφος Τζεμ Καρ, σε συνέντευξη που παραχώρησε στον Αρχισυντάκτη της ιστοσελίδας The Levant Files, Δρ. Νικόλαο Στέλγια.

Ο κ. Καρ περιέγραψε με μελανά χρώματα την κατάσταση στην τουρκοκυπριακή κοινότητα, τονίζοντας πως το πρόσφατο ναυάγιο αποτελεί τη μεγαλύτερη ναυτική τραγωδία που έχει βιώσει ο τόπος. Παράλληλα, άσκησε έντονη κριτική στους αρμόδιους μηχανισμούς για την πλήρη αποτυχία στη διαχείριση της κρίσης και στην επικοινωνία με τους συγγενείς των θυμάτων.

«Στην ουσία λειτουργούμε λες και υπάρχουν θεσμοί, αλλά δεν υπάρχει τίποτα», ανέφερε χαρακτηριστικά ο δημοσιογράφος, περιγράφοντας ένα σύστημα «βιτρίνα». Όπως εξήγησε, η απουσία αξιοκρατίας δεν εντοπίζεται μόνο στο πολιτικό προσωπικό, αλλά κυρίως στη δημόσια διοίκηση και τη γραφειοκρατία, όπου οι κομματικοί διορισμοί και η λογική του πελατειακού ρουσφετιού στερούν από τους ελεγκτικούς μηχανισμούς την ικανότητα να επιβάλλουν κανόνες και μέτρα ασφαλείας. Υπενθύμισε μάλιστα ότι παρόμοιες εγκληματικές παραλείψεις παρατηρούνται διαχρονικά και στο οδικό δίκτυο, όπως στον θανατηφόρο δρόμο Κερύνειας-Λευκωσίας, χωρίς ποτέ να λαμβάνονται προληπτικά μέτρα.

Στο επίκεντρο της συζήτησης βρέθηκαν και οι πολιτικές εξελίξεις που πυροδότησε το ναυάγιο, με την αποπομπή του λεγόμενου «υπουργού συγκοινωνιών» Ερχάν Αρικλί και την απόφαση του κόμματός του (Κόμμα Αναγέννησης, YDP) να αποχωρήσει από το «κυβερνητικό» σχήμα. Ο κ. Καρ καυτηρίασε τη στάση και το χαμόγελο του κ. Αρικλί κατά τη συνέντευξη Τύπου, χαρακτηρίζοντάς τα ως απόδειξη έλλειψης ενσυναίσθησης απέναντι στον ανθρώπινο πόνο.

Από την πλευρά του, ο Δρ. Νικόλαος Στέλγιας έθεσε το ζήτημα της διαχρονικής διαχείρισης κρίσεων σε ολόκληρη την Κύπρο, παραλληλίζοντας την κατάσταση με παλαιότερες τραγωδίες (όπως η πτώση του αεροσκάφους «Helios», η έκρηξη στο Μαρί και οι φονικές πυρκαγιές), όπου η πολιτική ατιμωρησία και η ανεπάρκεια υπήρξαν κοινά χαρακτηριστικά.

Ερωτηθείς για το πώς η τραγωδία θα επηρεάσει το πολιτικό σκηνικό ενόψει της εκλογικής διαδικασίας της 6ης Δεκεμβρίου, ο Τζεμ Καρ εκτίμησε ότι η προσφυγή σε πρόωρες «βουλευτικές» κάλπες είναι πλέον αναπόφευκτη. Προέβλεψε ότι τα κυβερνώντα κόμματα (Κόμμα Εθνικής Ενότητας - UBP, Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα - DP, YDP) θα κληθούν να πληρώσουν βαρύ πολιτικό τίμημα στην κάλπη, ωστόσο υπογράμμισε ότι το πραγματικό ζητούμενο της κοινωνίας δεν πρέπει να είναι απλώς η τιμωρία, αλλά η ριζική αλλαγή νοοτροπίας: η πολιτική να εστιάσει στον άνθρωπο, στη θέσπιση ουσιαστικών μέτρων πρόληψης και στον τερματισμό της ανοχής απέναντι στην αμέλεια.
