TLF SPECIAL: Israel Pledges Support to Cyprus; Denies Iranian Allegations in Previous TLF News Article

Israeli sources signal solidarity with regional allies, accuse Tehran of undermining stability

Speaking to The Levant Files (TLF), several Israeli sources have issued a statement responding to a recent TLF's news article concerning what they described as an alarming message sent by Iran to the region.

In the statement, the sources dismissed Tehran's assertions of having no hostile intentions toward neighboring nations, questioning Iran's broader regional conduct. They specifically pointed to what they characterized as threats directed at Cyprus, asking what connection the Mediterranean island nation has to the ongoing confrontation.

The Israeli sources reaffirmed what they called deep-rooted ties with both Greece and Cyprus, describing the two countries as proven allies with whom Israel maintains multilayered cooperation. They emphasized that in the event of any hostile action, Israel would stand alongside Cyprus and its other regional partners.

"In case of any enemy move, the people of Cyprus and all of our friends must keep in mind that Israel is in your side," the sources stated.

The sources also placed the current tensions within a broader historical context, with the Israeli side asserting that Iran has been engaged in a prolonged campaign of aggression spanning decades. They framed the ongoing conflict as not only a threat to Israel but also as an attack on democratic values more broadly.

The sources concluded by expressing Israel's determination to continue defending itself and what they described as the democratic order in the region.

The Levant Files has reached out to Iranian sources for comment. No response has been received at the time of publication.
