Iran Asserts 'Imposition of Defeat' on Israel and U.S.

According to a new Iranian Tasnim News Agency article titled "Arguments About Imposing Defeat on the Zionist Enemy/Let's Not Have a 'Trump Tribune' in Iran," the recent cessation of military conflict represents a victory for Iran and a defeat imposed upon Israel and the United States, not a mutually agreed-upon peace. The article refutes what it calls enemy attempts to portray the outcome differently through media and psychological operations.

The agency argues that the end of the conflict was not a bilateral ceasefire but a unilateral declaration of failure by the U.S. and Israel. It asserts that the "final blow" was delivered by Iranian missile attacks on the American base in Al-Udeid, Qatar, and on Israeli territory. These strikes, the article claims, inflicted unforeseen and unsustainable damage, compelling the opposing side to halt their aggression after failing to achieve their stated goal of forcing Iran into a "complete surrender agreement."

This outcome is framed as a comprehensive failure to achieve any of the stated U.S. and Israeli strategic goals. The article states that objectives such as changing Iran's political order, ending its nuclear and missile capabilities, and imposing a surrender agreement were not met. Instead, it claims the conflict fostered "unprecedented political and social cohesion" within Iran and demonstrated that its missile power could dictate the terms of engagement.

The news agency accuses former U.S. President Trump and Israeli officials of now engaging in a psychological operation through the media to reframe their "defeat in the field" as a decision made from a position of power. The article concludes with a warning against what it terms internal "Trump platforms," which it says promote the enemy's narrative by misinterpreting the "imposition of defeat" on the enemy as an "imposed peace" on Iran and attempting to turn a foreign conflict into a domestic political dispute.

Sovereignty as Spectacle: Turkish Cypriot Researcher Critiques Grand Opening of the Northern Cyprus New "Republican Campus"

On Saturday, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is not recognized internationally, officially launched its new "Republican Campus." The first construction phase features the new Presidential Building and Parliament Building, inaugurated during a grand ceremony attended by Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Dubbed by critics as a "show of sovereignty," the event, alongside the concurrent Teknofest technology festival, has drawn criticism from Turkish Cypriot researcher-writer Mete Hatay for its political undertones and symbolic messaging. Hatay, a noted peace researcher affiliated with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), argues that the openings were not merely about inaugurating buildings but about constructing symbols of dominance under the guise of sovereignty. Hatay describes the events as meticulously staged platforms for political agendas. "Today in Northern Cyprus, it wasn't just buildings that were opened; symbols w...
