Ναυτική Τραγωδία Στην Κερύνεια: Οκτώ Νεκροί Και 17 Αγνοούμενοι – Υπό Κράτηση Ο Καπετάνιος Και Το Πλήρωμα



Τραγικός είναι ο απολογισμός της βύθισης επιβατικού καταμαράν ανοιχτά της Κερύνειας το μεσημέρι της Κυριακής. Σύμφωνα με τα επικαιροποιημένα στοιχεία των αρχών, οκτώ άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους, 242 διασώθηκαν και 17 αγνοούνται. Το ταχύπλοο σκάφος «FİLO JET», που εκτελούσε το δρομολόγιο προς το Τάσουτζου της Μερσίνης, μετέφερε συνολικά 267 άτομα. Ο «πρωθυπουργός» Ουνάλ Ουστέλ έκανε λόγο για τη χειρότερη ναυτική καταστροφή στην ιστορία της Κύπρου.

Το πλοίο απέπλευσε στις 11:50, παρότι το «λιμεναρχείο» είχε αρχικά αρνηθεί τον απόπλου λόγω των δυσμενών καιρικών συνθηκών και του υπολειπόμενου κυματισμού από την κακοκαιρία της προηγούμενης ημέρας. Περίπου 35 λεπτά αργότερα, το στίγμα του χάθηκε. Σύμφωνα με μαρτυρίες επιζώντων, επιβάτες είχαν προειδοποιήσει εγκαίρως το πλήρωμα για εισροή υδάτων, εισπράττοντας όμως καθησυχαστικές απαντήσεις. Λίγα λεπτά μετά, η πλώρη υπέστη ρήγμα, τα τζάμια έσπασαν και το σκάφος ανέτρεψε. Επιβάτες κατήγγειλαν ότι δεν τους διανεμήθηκαν εγκαίρως σωσίβια και ότι μέλη του πληρώματος εγκατέλειψαν πρώτα το πλοίο.

Στο πλαίσιο της έρευνας που διατάχθηκε, ο καπετάνιος και τα υπόλοιπα επτά μέλη του πληρώματος τέθηκαν υπό κράτηση. Το ναυάγιο εντοπίστηκε στον βυθό, σε βάθος 514 μέτρων. Ο «υπουργός μεταφορών» Ερχάν Αρικλί διευκρίνισε ότι τα ακριβή αίτια θα φωτιστούν μετά την ανέλκυση του καταγραφέα δεδομένων («μαύρου κουτιού»), ενώ ειδικά εξοπλισμένο σκάφος και δύτες από την Τουρκία αναμένονταν στην περιοχή για να συνδράμουν στις έρευνες.

Στην ευρεία επιχείρηση διάσωσης συμμετείχαν πλοία της ακτοφυλακής, ελικόπτερα, μη επανδρωμένα αεροσκάφη (UAV), καθώς και δεκάδες ιδιωτικά σκάφη. Από τους 242 διασωθέντες, οι 161 νοσηλεύονται, ενώ μεταξύ των επιβατών συγκαταλέγονταν τέσσερις Γερμανοί και τρεις Ιρανοί υπήκοοι.

Ο Τούρκος Πρόεδρος Ρετζέπ Ταγίπ Ερντογάν εξέφρασε τα συλλυπητήριά του και προσέφερε πλήρη επιχειρησιακή στήριξη. Η πλοιοκτήτρια εταιρεία Filo Denizcilik ενεργοποίησε κέντρο διαχείρισης κρίσης και ειδική τηλεφωνική γραμμή για τους συγγενείς, καλώντας παράλληλα το κοινό να αποφεύγει την παραπληροφόρηση που κυκλοφορεί στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης.
